I close the door and think about the conversation with Onyx. The only reason I know her name is because it was on the box I got rid of. Fuck the police doing this, I will. No one can protect her like I can. I wasn’t lying to her either about having her sweet ass. She will sooner or later give into the bond between us. All I have to do is sit and wait. She’s become my obsession and when I finally get her, she will know what I’m all about.

“Everything okay?,” Esmerelda asks me as I plop down into the recliner. I run my hand through my hair, sighing.

“I won’t be here at the house much. My mate has a deadly stalker problem,” I say, and she nods, sitting down on the couch across from me.

“Does she know what we do?” she asks, and I nod. I plan on telling her as soon as possible, but I don’t know how she will take it. She has already gone toe to toe with me at the beach and I can tell she doesn’t like people who get into trouble.

“I will tell her eventually,” I tell her, and she shakes her head.

“I would do it sooner rather than later. Trust me,” she says and stands up, exiting the living room and up the stairs. I sit back and close my eyes, trying to picture my woman naked, but it isn’t working.

“Hey dude,” Bane says to me as he enters the room. He heads over to the TV and turns it on before sitting down on the couch.

“What’s up man?,” I ask, and he picks up the remote to flip through the channels.

“Nothing much. Just wondering where you’ve been lately,” he says, and I hang my head. Nothing gets past him.

“Watching over my woman,” I tell him, and a smile slowly graces his face. We grew up together, so there is no use lying to him because he knows when I do.

“Well, when am I going to meet her?” he asks. He wasn’t with us at the beach the night we interrupted that party.

“Soon man. She’s got problems that need my expertise,” I say, and he nods.

“I’m going to head up to bed. I will see you tomorrow,” I tell him and head upstairs to my room. I close the door behind me and slip out of my clothes, then get into bed. As soon as my head hits my pillows, I’m dead to the world.
